What is Rotational Molding?
Rotational molding, also known as rotomolding, is a molding process ideal for manufacturing large hollow plastic products. Plastic powder is heated and melted inside the mold; bi-axial rotation distributes the molten plastic evenly against the inner mold wall. A finished integrated part is formed after cooling.
This process is perfectly suited for the production of storage tanks, water tanks, enclosures, playground equipment, agricultural machinery and all kinds of large hollow plastic goods.
Compared with injection molding, the cost of large-size molds is greatly reduced.
